Forests and water fill Springville Township with sportsmen and hunters each and every year. One of the great resources in the township is Hodenpyl Dam Pond, built in 1925. This massive, man-made lake is over 1,680 acres and at a depth of 70 feet.

There are three boat access points around the lake. It has Catfish, Northern Pike, Panfish, Smallmouth Bass, Sturgeon, Trout, Walleye and Yellow Perch. Campgrounds include Northern Exposure Campground/RV & Recreational Park, Fletchers Creek Campground, Seaton Creek Campground, and Pat’s RV Park.
The Manistee River and many creeks that feed into the river meander Northeast throughout the rest of Springville Township. Several canoe rentals are located along the river, along with quiet fishing places and hiking trails.
